A restored bungalow in one of the older parts of the coastal community of downtown Ventura, The owner, an active mountain climber and clothing designer choose to paint the exterior in the colors of native California Manzanita commonly found in our local hills. Finding inspiration from the exterior colors, Kiesel design selected Manzanita shrubs to soften the entry foundation. A dry creek bed, rain chains and native grasses, that sway in the wind and provide a fine texture against the Manzanitas, were also added in order to bring a bit of nature to the small enclosed yard space. A custom designed wall, ornamental iron gate and fence offer a sense of separation from the high traffic area while complementing the arts and crafts inspired architecture.
